The Judicial Nominating Commission for the First District Court of Appeal is now accepting applications to fill the vacancy resulting from the retirement of Judge Edward T. Barfield, effective December 31.

Applicants must have been members of The Florida Bar for the preceding 10 years, registered voters, and residents of the territorial jurisdiction of the court at the time they assume office.

Applications can be obtained on The Florida Bar Web site, www.floridabar.org.

An original and nine copies of the completed application and all attachments must be delivered to George Levesque, JNC Chair, 420 The Capitol, Tallahassee 32301, no later than 12 p.m., Thursday, November 12.
