THE NEW FIRST DISTRICT COURT OF APPEAL in Tallahassee is taking shape. The project, located in the Southwood community, is a three-story building just over 100,000 square feet. The facility will include administrative offices, judges' chambers, marshals' office, courtrooms, and a library. The Florida Legislature in 2007 appropriated money to construct the new courthouse for the First DCA and also funds for Florida State University College of Law to move into the 50,000 square-foot building being vacated by the First DCA, which is adjacent to the law school’s present facilities. Construction on the new facility is expected to be completed in October 2010. It is being built by Peter R. Brown Construction, Inc. Photo/www.aerophoto.com
