Tom HallTHOMAS D. HALL, clerk of the Supreme Court of Florida, retired in October. Hall was the 20th clerk in the court’s 168-year history and has served in the position since 2000. He worked for eight chief justices and his tenure stretched from Bush v. Gore in the fall of 2000 to the launch of mandatory e-filing at the court in the spring of 2013. “I want to thank you for tireless efforts, your relentless dedication, and excellent service,” Chief Justice Ricky Polston said. When Hall took the podium at the October 9 retirement ceremony at the court, he said: “Rather than recognizing me, this is really a recognition of the clerk’s office. The real reason I was able to do all that I did was because of those people over there [the clerk’s staff].”
