Judge Robert K. Rouse, Judge Susan Black, and Judge William HoevelerU.S. JUDGE SUSAN H. BLACK of Jacksonville, right, and Seventh Circuit Judge Robert K. Rouse, Jr., left, received the William M. Hoeveler Judicial Award, which recognizes a judge who best exemplifies strength of character, service, and competence as a jurist, lawyer, and public servant. The award was presented at the Bar’s Annual Convention by The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Professionalism. Judge Black was appointed to the bench in 1995. Judge Rouse, on the bench since 1995, served two terms as chief judge and wrote the “Principles of Professionalism,” which was adopted by the Florida Supreme Court in 2006. Also pictured is Judge William M. Hoeveler, the award’s namesake. The annual award promotes the ideals and values of the committee’s mission, the justice system, and the legal profession.
