Jerry M. Markowitz of Markowitz, Ringel, Trusty + Hartog in Miami has co-written Bankruptcy Mediation, a new book from the American Bankruptcy Institute and co-authored a chapter on ADR and bankruptcy in the ADR Deskbook for the Business Lawyer from the Business Law Section of the ABA.

Danialle Riggins of Riggins Law Firm in Ocala lectured on “Health-care Planning — Making Decisions Now for Later” at the Elder Law Informational Seminar hosted by New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church.

Michael A. Rosenberg ROIG Lawyers in Deerfield Beach discussed “Analyze This. Strategize That: Using Data Analytics To Your Advantage” at the The National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) 2016 Annual Meeting in Houston.

Alex Barthet of The Barthet Firm in Miami spoke at the Sage Summit in Chicago on the challenges facing any construction company operating in today’s complex legal environment.

Brad E. Coren has become president-elect of the Rotary Club of Weston.

Andrew S. Berman and Brian M. Karpf of Young Berman Karpf & Gonzalez
provided presentations at the ABA Family Law Section Spring Conference in the Bahamas.
Berman discussed “Staying Out of Trouble: How to Avoid Bar Grievances,” on ethical pitfalls that apply specifically to family law attorneys.
Karpf presented a “Law Practice Management Symposium” for family law attorneys.

Victoria Méndez, the City of Miami attorney, has been accepted into Class XXXV of Leadership Florida.

Lori Caldwell-Carr of InFocus Family Law Firm in Orlando has been elected president of the Central Florida Family Law Inn in Orlando for a second term.

David S. Hendrix of GrayRobinson in Tampa has been named chair-elect of the University of Tampa Family Association Leadership Council.

Belinda Noah of Tampa was selected to serve as a visiting international environmental law lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration in Accra, Ghana, for the 2015-16 academic year.

Bjorg Eikeland of Hickey Law Firm in Miami has been elected president of the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce-South East Chapter of the United States.

Alex Caballero of Mason Black & Caballero in Tampa presented “Parenting Plans — The Basics and Fundamentals in Creating Parenting Plans” and participated in a panel discussion on marital and family law matters at the Florida College of Advanced Judicial Studies in Orlando.

Christina M. Martin of Pacific Legal Foundation in Palm Beach Gardens was a panelist on “Collision Course: Environmentalism vs. Property Rights” at the 2016 James Madison Institute Annual Policy Summit in Orlando.

Stacey Prince-Troutman of Broad and Cassel in Orlando has been accepted into Class II of the Florida Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Adam M. Moskowitz of Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton in Miami received University of Miami School of Law’s 2016 Law Alumni Achievement Award.

Charles Whittington of Grant Fridkin Pearson has become treasurer of the Young Lawyers Section of the Collier County Bar Association. He also has been appointed to the board of directors of the Collier County Bar Foundation.

Reed McClosky of Freedman & McClosky in Ft. Lauderdale has been appointed to the City of Plantation Planning and Zoning Board.

Andrew (Josh) Markus of Carlton Fields in Miami has been elected to the board of governors of the ABA, where he will represent Florida and Texas (District 8).

Richard Patino of The Patino Law Firm was honored with the 2016 Miami-Dade County Teen Court award for contributions to the empowerment of Miami-Dade County youth. Patino serves as volunteer judge for the Miami Dade County Teen Court Program.

Harvey Oyer of Shutts & Bowen in West Palm Beach received the Florida Authors & Publishers Association Gold Medal for Florida Juvenile Fiction & Nonfiction for his book The Adventures of Charlie Pierce: The Barefoot Mailman.
