Chief Justice Labarga at UF

CHIEF JUSTICE JORGE LABARGA, second from the left, recently spoke to University of Florida Law Professor Jon Mills’ Florida Constitutional Law course as part of the Overton Lectures in Florida Constitutional Law, a program initiated by friends and colleagues of the late Justice Ben Overton. The program honors Overton’s legal career and service as a professor at UF Law. Overton served on the Supreme Court from 1974 until his retirement on January 4, 1999. Justice Barbara Pariente is scheduled to speak to the class November 10. In addition to UF law students who are enrolled in Florida Constitutional Law, the Overton Lectures are open to all UF law faculty and students. On November 1, Mills will continue Justice Overton’s tradition and take his class to visit the Florida Supreme Court where they will hear oral arguments and lunch with the justices.
