Isom wins Judge William M. Hoeveler Judicial Award

Judge Claudia Isom and Judge William Hoeveler 13TH CIRCUIT JUDGE CLAUDIA ISOM received the Judge William M. Hoeveler Judicial Award from the Bar’s Standing Committee on Professionalism in recognition of her more than 20 years on the bench, where she has been praised as a “fair, intelligent, and ethical jurist,” for her work as a mentor to new judges, for service on the Standing Committee on Professionalism and the Rules of Judicial Administration and Rules of Civil Procedure committees, and for reflecting in her personal and professional life “the four C’s – character, competence, civility, and commitment.” Isom is pictured with Judge Hoeveler. The committee’s Law Faculty Professionalism Award went to Amy Mashburn of the University of Florida, where she has taught since 1995. Prof. Mashburn has directed the college’s Lawyering and Professionalism Program since 2012 and has worked to integrate professionalism into the college’s legal courses. She has twice been recognized as the college’s “Teacher of the Year” and has published more than a dozen articles, including “Making Civility Democratic.”
