ADR conference set for Orlando

The Florida Dispute Resolution Center has set the 21st Annual Conference for ADR: “Expanding Our Horizons” for August 9-10 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando.

“In keeping with the ongoing theme of growth and change, this year’s conference features nationally recognized presenters on a variety of topics, some of which are not related to mediation, but are, nevertheless, dispute resolution processes of interest,” said Janice M. Fleischer, director of the Florida Dispute Resolution Center.

Fleischer said more than 1,000 mediators and ADR professionals from across the country are expected to attend and can choose from 45 sessions to earn CME and CLE credits.

“Florida is really the gold standard of court connected ADR — with all the other states looking to us for guidance and how they might want to organize their own efforts,” Fleischer said.

Included in the lineup of speakers this year is Chief Justice Ricky Polston, Justice Peggy Quince, and Fifth DCA Judge William Palmer.

As always, Fleischer said, the Dispute Resolution Center is striving to provide attendees with “thought provoking and timely general plenary sessions and a wide selection of individual workshops.”
