FAWL bestows yearly honors

The Florida Association for Women Lawyers honored its “outstanding” chapters during its 2013 annual meeting in Boca Raton.

Established in 1951, FAWL serves as the statewide voice for Florida’s women lawyers and a communication resource for its 30 chapters located around the state. FAWL’s mission is to actively promote gender equality and the leadership roles of FAWL’s members in the legal profession, judiciary, and community at large.

FAWL chapters recognized this year include:

* Outstanding Chapter Award: Tallahassee Women Lawyers.

* Outstanding Member Program Award : Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers ’ “Mentoring Families” Program.

* Outstanding Public Service Program Award: South Palm Beach County FAWL ’s “Educating Tomorrow’s Adults” Program.

* Membership Recruitment Award : Brevard County Association for Women Lawyers; Collier County Women’s Bar Association; Lee County Association for Women Lawyers; Marion County Association for Women Lawyers; Martin County Association for Women Lawyers; Miami-Dade FAWL; Northwest Florida/Pensacola Chapter FAWL; Pinellas County Association for Women Lawyers; FAWL at the University of Florida; University of Miami, Miami Law Women; and Volusia/Flagler Association for Women Lawyers.
