Parks named president-elect of the NBA
The National Bar Association, the nation’s oldest and largest association of African American lawyers and judges, has elected Daryl Parks as its president-elect.

Daryl Parks Parks, who currently serves as managing partner of Parks & Crump in Tallahassee, was elected in August during the NBA’s Annual Convention & Exhibits in New Orleans. The convention commemorated the 85th anniversary of the organization, which has thrived as the leading voice for African American lawyers and judges.

As managing partner of Parks & Crump, Parks has assisted individuals and their families who have suffered severe injury or death, and has worked toward protecting their civil rights. His clientele has included the family of 14-year-old Martin Lee Anderson, who died while incarcerated at a Bay County juvenile boot camp. Parks has been an active member and leader within the NBA, serving as vice president of finance and now president-elect.

“Modern day membership organizations require more individualized service, whether it is the solo or small firm practitioner, large firm managing partner, government or corporate attorney, professor, or public defender,” Parks said. “I’ve given my time, talent, and money to uplift this organization. As president-elect, I will continue to fulfill my commitment to ensure that our efforts lead to a stronger NBA.”

In addition to serving on the NBA Board of Governors, Parks serves on the Florida Justice Association’s Board of Directors, as chair of the Leon County Sickle Cell Foundation, and as vice chair of the Board of Trustees at Florida A&M University.

Founded in 1925, the National Bar Association represents approximately 44,000 lawyers, judges, law professors, and law students and has over 80 affiliate chapters throughout the United States and around the world.
