JUSTICE TEACHING, the initiative of Justice Fred Lewis to pair an attorney or judge volunteer with every public school in Florida continued to move forward in the fall of 2009 as Justice Lewis and Annette Boyd Pitts, excutive director of the Florida Law Related Education Association, conducted another live Justice Teaching training session in Viera, with lawyers from many areas of the state attending. The session, which was organized and hosted by 18th Judicial Circuit Judge Lisa Davidson and Brevard County Bar Association President E. Ashley Hardee, was held at the Viera Government Center. Volunteers Kimberly Rezanka and Edward Kinberg shared with the trainees their positive experiences as Justice Teaching volunteers and how they have become devoted to the program. Two educators from the Brevard County public school system, Frank W. Stockman II and Mickey Olinger, also attended and provided personal knowledge of the positive impact that Justice Teaching has had on their students. The training session was followed by a reception at the Duran Golf Club. Pictured from the left are Judge Davidson, Kinberg, Stockman, Judge Kelly McKibben, Brevard County Bar President Ashley Hardee, and Olinger. A few schools still need trained Justice Teaching volunteers. For more information visit www.justiceteaching.org.
