Federal JNC to interview for openings

Pursuant to the instructions from Sen. Bill Nelson and Sen. Marco Rubio, the Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission is now accepting applications for the following positions:

U.S. District Judge, Southern District of Florida (two vacancies, one created by the senior status of Judge Patricia Seitz and one anticipated vacancy created by the upcoming senior status of Judge Donald Graham on December 15).

U.S. District Judge, Middle District of Florida (two vacancies, one created by the senior status of Judge John Antoon and one anticipated vacancy created by the upcoming senior status of Judge James Moody, Jr., on March 14, 2014).

U.S. Attorney, Middle District of Florida (one vacancy created by the resignation of U.S. Attorney Bobby O’Neill).

The rules of procedure for the JNC application forms for 2013-15 with incorporated instructions, and the names and addresses of the members of the commission, are available at the following websites: The Florida Bar website (www.floridabar.org); U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida (www.flnd.uscourts.gov); U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida (www.flmd.uscourts.gov); and U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida (www.flsd.uscourts.gov). Completed applications must be received by the chair and each commissioner no later than 5 p.m., August 19. All applicants should note a change made in the manner by which members of the commission receive applications. The original, signed application must be provided to the chair by the application deadline date, but all commission members are now to be served electronically at their email addresses. There is a strict 40-page limit for the application and all enclosures. The application must be submitted in pdf format.

The names of the applicants who are selected for personal interviews with the commission, as well as the interview times, will be published on each website by August 29, 2013.
