The Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission is now accepting applications for fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge James W. Whatley.
Applicants must have been a member of the Bar for the preceding 10 years, a registered voter, and a resident of the territorial jurisdiction of the court at the time he or she assumes office.
This appointment will be assigned to offices in the Lakeland Courthouse and would be based there for the foreseeable future.
Current applications must be used and can be downloaded from the Florida Bar’s website at www.floridabar.org.
The completed application must be typed and bound. The inclusion of a photograph is encouraged. In addition to the original and nine two-sided copies, applicants must provide one printed redacted copy and one electronic redacted copy of the application that complies with Chapter 119 and Florida’s Public Records Act, if you claim the right to redaction. The full copy and the redacted copy should be on a flash drive in PDF format.
The completed application and attachments and flash drive must be delivered to Anthony T. Martino, JNC Chair, 3407 West Kennedy Blvd., Tampa 33609 no later than noon, October 22.
