VOLUNTEERISM TO FEED THE HUNGRY stems from many sources of inspiration, and Zimmerman Kiser Sutcliffe attorney Rick Webber, right, shares his first-hand motivation to help Central Florida’s recent Million Meal Challenge: “I grew up below the poverty line in Maine and have personal experience of going to bed hungry as a child because there was no food in the house. My father abandoned six children (I am the oldest) and my mother was a prescription drug addict (Valium), so I was in charge at the age of 13.” To prepare meals for drought-stricken West Africa, Webber was joined by a Zimmerman Kiser Sutcliffe firm team of 15 people, working within a group of approximately 3,000 Central Florida volunteers. The Zimmerman folks participated in the effort to provide 12,000 needy residents of Burkina Faso with one meal a day for one year. The Zimmerman Kiser Sutcliffe team also contributed $500 to the cause.
