Duval County needs a judge

The Fourth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission is now accepting application to fill a vacancy on the Duval County bench created by the appointment of Judge Russell Healey to the circuit court.

Applicants must have been a member of The Florida Bar for the preceding five years, a registered voter, and must be a resident of the territorial jurisdiction of the court at the time he or she assumes office.

The application form may be downloaded from The Florida Bar’s website at

Each person interested in applying must deliver a .pdf version of their application with a color photograph to and a redacted version of the application excluding all exempt information under Chapter 119, F.S. or other applicable public records law. The attached file should be named so that the applicant’s name and “redacted” or “unredacted” is readily apparent in the title of the attached file.

All applications must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17.
