Hillsborough Bar honors Young

THE HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION recognized the legal and civic achievements of Gwynne Young, current Florida Bar president, with its “Outstanding Lawyer Award” at the HCBA Diversity Membership Luncheon. The award recognizes attorneys who have made a significant difference in the practice of law and in the community with their personal and professional conduct. Pedro F. Bajo, Jr., immediate past HCBA president, presented the award to Young, noting, “Gwynne Young has been the leader of every group she has belonged to. Young is a former president of the HCBA and the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation, as well as a former president of the Cheatwood Inn of Court. She is active in alumni and other groups at her alma maters, Duke University and the University of Florida. She is a former trustee of Duke University and the University of Florida Law Center Association. She also has held leadership positions with the Junior League of Tampa, The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, and Tampa Metropolitan YMCA. She is the founder and former director of the Child Abuse Council and is a former trustee of the University of Tampa.”
