Lowndes, Drosdick raises $95,000 for United Way

Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed in Orlando raised $95,000 for Heart of Florida United Way’s 2012-13 campaign.

“We have been raising money for United Way for several years, but these past few years have been especially important,” said partner Meredith E. Level, who serves as the firm’s chair of the Charitable Contributions Committee. “There are many people out of work and struggling in our community still, and I am very proud of our firm and employees who continue to work hard and make this donation possible.”

Heart of Florida United Way is Central Florida’s most comprehensive health and human services charity and the largest provider of funds to the region’s critical health and human service programs. Last year it raised and managed $25.3 million throughout Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.

Heart of Florida United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on education, income, health, and safety. It also operates United Way 2-1-1 & Elder Helpline, Central Florida’s community crisis and suicide hotline and information and referral helpline; a Volunteer Resource Center; a Gifts In Kind Center; a Stewardship program that works with agencies to provide emergency assistance; and the Ryan White Part B program, which administers more than $2 million to provide HIV/AIDS services.
