Michael J. Overbeck has become a partner with Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser & Zoeller in West Palm Beach. Overbeck is a board certified civil trial attorney.

Blair H. Chan has joined the Givens Law Group in Tampa. Chan focuses on all areas of family law, including divorce, paternity, child custody and child support, alimony, modifications, enforcements, domestic violence injunctions, and recovery of attorneys’ fees and costs.

Bart Scovill has opened Bart Scovill, PLC located at 5104 N Lockwood Ridge Rd., Suite 102, Sarasota 34234. Scovill will focus on estate planning, business law, and probate.

Gregory Boulos, Brooks Collins, and Charles Throckmorton joined Carlton Fields as associates. Boulos and Throckmorton work in the firm’s Miami office, and Collins works in West Palm Beach. Boulos focuses on defending corporations and businesses in commercial and personal injury disputes arising out of the manufacture, sale, and use of consumer products. Collins focuses on the litigation and arbitration of business disputes. Throckmorton focuses on the litigation and arbitration of business disputes.

Curtis Alva has joined Holland & Knight as a partner, and Alison Brown has joined as an associate. Alva and Brown are members of the South Florida litigation practice group and work in the firm’s West Palm Beach office.

Lorien L. M. M. Golaski and Benjamin D. Babcock have joined Cummings & Lockwood in Naples. Golaski will work in the firm’s commercial practice and Babcok in the trusts and estates practice.

Jacqueline Rockwell and Ashley Hodson have joined Grant Fridkin Pearson in Naples. Rockwell joins the business and real estate practice group as special counsel. Hodson will work in the trusts and estates practice group.

Alicia L. Taylor has joined Quarles & Brady in Naples as an associate in the trusts and estates practice group.

R. Gregory Hyden has joined Nason, Yeager, Gerson, White & Lioce in West Palm Beach as an associate. Hyden concentrates in the areas of business litigation, commercial litigation, real property litigation, and family litigation.

Hans Burgos has become an income partner with Zumpano Patricios & Winker in Coral Gables. Burgos will head the firm’s immigration department.

Ben Stechschulte has opened the Law Offices of Ben Stechschulte, PL, at 511 W. Bay Street, Suite 350, Tampa 33606. Stechschulte practices in the areas of both state and federal criminal defense, along with DUI defense.
Elizabeth (Betsy) Pierce Kuhn and Adriana Barnette have joined Ogletree Deakins in Tampa as associates. Kuhn represents both public and private sector management clients in labor and employment matters in state and federal court, in arbitration, and before administrative bodies. Barnette’s practice focuses primarily on litigation, including representing management in cases involving claims of discrimination and retaliation.

Patrick W. Joyce has joined Milam Howard Nicandri Dees & Gillam in Jacksonville as an associate in the commercial litigation group.

Javier L. Vazquez has joined Berger Singerman in Miami as a partner. Vazquez concentrates his practice in the areas of zoning, land use, and general governmental regulation.

Slade V. Dukes has joined Florida Department of Children and Families’ Children’s Legal Services in Daytona Beach as managing attorney for Circuit 7 in the Northeast Region.
