Kimberly Kanoff Berman of McIntosh Sawran & Cartaya in Ft. Lauderdale presented her article, “A Cure for ‘Acute Motion Sickness’: A Practitioner’s Guide to Motion Practice in Florida’s District Courts of Appeal,” at Florida International University Law Review’s Symposium.

Richard Stoudemire of Saalfield Shad in Jacksonville received the John J. Schickel Professionalism and Excellence Award from the E. Robert Williams American Inn of Court.

Ava J. Borrasso of Miami presented “Extraterritorial Application of 28 U.S.C. §1782 to Obtain Documents from Affiliates Abroad” at the IFTTA North America Annual Conference.

Stefanie C. Moon of S.C. Moon Law spoke on a panel, “Federal Practice & Professionalism,” hosted by the Federal Bar Assoc. NSU Law Chapter in Broward County.

John Gihon of Shorstein, Lasnetski and Gihon in Orlando spoke to the League of Women Voters of Seminole County about “Hot Topics in Immigration.”

Adam B. Cordover of Family Diplomacy: A Collaborative Law Firm in Tampa led a workshop on “A Peacemaker’s Signature —Aligning Values, Interests, and Practice” at the 10th Annual Conference of the Collaborative Professionals of Washington.

Brian H. Bieber of GrayRobinson in Miami was featured as an instructor on “Investigating the White Collar Case and Accompanying Ethical Issues” at Stetson Law School’s 5th Annual National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers White Collar Criminal Defense College.

Michael Brady Lynch of The Michael Brady Lynch Firm in Winter Park spoke in Ft. Lauderdale for Mass Torts Nexus on the subject “Anticoagulant Uncontrollable Bleeding Litigation: Pradaxa, Xarelto and Eliquis.” Lynch also spoke in Orlando at the HB Litigation Conferences: Mass Tort Med School on the topic “Emerging Litigation: Eliquis Uncontrollable Bleeding Risks.”

Douglas J. Chumbley of Carlton Fields in Miami was appointed to the board of editors of the Defense Counsel Journal, a quarterly publication of the International Association of Defense Counsel.

Kent Spriggs, a 50-year member of The Florida Bar and Tallahassee civil rights attorney, has edited “Voices of Civil Rights Lawyers — Reflections from the Deep South, 1964-1980.” Published by University Press of Florida, the book includes 26 eyewitness accounts from contributors who reveal what it was like to be a Southern civil rights lawyer in that era.

Dale Noll of Akerman in Miami has been appointed president of the National Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Bar Association.

Todd S. Payne of Zerbersky Payne in Ft. Lauderdale was honored by the University of Miami College of Law.

Miranda Lundeen Soto of Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Miami presented “Voir dire and the opening statement” at the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel’s Trial Master’s Program “Jury Trials in the Millennial Age: An In-depth Look at How Your Jurors Really Think” in Charleston, South Carolina.

Amanda Barritt of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt in Ft. Myershas joined the Gladiolus Learning & Development Center’s Building Committee.

M. Scott Kleiman of Kalis, Kleiman & Wolfe in Davie will serve as the Broward chair of the National Parkinson Foundation’s Moving Day, a fundraising walk/run event at Nova Southeastern University.

John R. Dierking of Holland & Knight in Orlando received the 2017 Judge J.C. “Jake” Stone Distinguished Service Award from the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association.

John Cechman of Goldstein, Buckley, Cechman, Rice & Purtz in Ft. Myers has been recertified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

Valerie B. Barnhart and Jessica M. Marra of Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Lauderdale have been elected to the Broward County Bar Association’s Board of Directors.

Jennifer Diaz of Diaz Trade Law in North Miami was a panelist in celebration of International Education Month at Miami-Dade College School of Business. Diaz also sat on a panel, “Your Practice Half-day CLE,” presented by Dade County Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Committee.

Thomas P. Fabricio of Mintzer Sarowitz Zeris Ledva & Meyers in Miami was appointed to Marymount Manhattan College’s English and World Literatures Advisory Board.

Keisha Bell of Travis McConnell in St. Petersburg presented in the session called “Go for the Win-Win” on the topic of leadership to the Business & Professional Women Association/St. Petersburg-Pinellas Chapter.

Ingrid Suarez Osborn of Jacksonville co-wrote “Gender Bias Across Professions,” which was published in the Florida Association for Women Lawyers Journal, Fall/Winter 2016 edition.

Jeff Kominsky of Lewis Brisboisin Ft. Lauderdale moderated the panel “21st Century AD: Managing College Sports in a Changing NCAA Landscape” at the Miami Sports Industry Conference.
