Jason Sherman has become environmental counsel for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office. Sherman will support DOE’s cleanups of the Portsmouth and Paducah gaseous diffusion plants formerly used to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons and nuclear reactors.

IlanMarkus of LeClairRyan in New Haven, Connecticut, has been appointed leader of the national firm’s bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice area team.

Jonathan Abramson, Amitai (Ami) Gavarian, and Ilanit Sisso have joined Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Lauderdale. Abramson focuses on property and casualty claims, including first-party insurance defense litigation. Gavarian focuses on workers’ compensation law. Sisso handles employment and labor law matters.

Charles J. Grimsley has joined Hoffman & Hoffman in Miami as a senior associate. Grimsley focuses on insurance law.

Jacqueline Simms-Petredis has joined Burr & Forman in Tampa as an associate in the financial services litigation practice group. Simms-Petredis’ practice includes advising financial institutions, mortgage loan originators, loan servicers and investors in contested foreclosures, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, compliance issues, and direct filed lawsuits.

Keith Koford has joined Holland & Knight in Miami as senior counsel in the health care and life sciences team. Koford focuses on the representation of health care, biotechnology and medical device companies in general corporate matters, as well as mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property licensing, and international and domestic manufacturing and sales/distribution transactions.

Enita Kushi has opened Kushi Law Firm, P.A., at 2390 Tamiami Trail North, Suite 102, in Naples. The firm focuses on foreclosure defense, general civil litigation, contract negotiation and disputes, bankruptcy, immigration, and appeals.

Teresa A. Hermann was promoted to partner at Jill S. Schwartz & Associates in Winter Park. Herrmann practices in the area of labor and employment law.

Nicholas C. Johnson has joined Cohen Milstein in Palm Beach Gardens as an associate. Johnson focuses on wrongful death and catastrophic injury.

Ann C. Thompson has joined The Farr Law Firm in Punta Gorda. Thompson focuses on estate planning, trusts, probate, and wills.

Ronald Scott Kaniuk has joined Bakalar & Associates in Plantation as a senior attorney. Kaniuk focuses primarily on civil litigation, concentrating in the areas of community association law, commercial and residential real estate litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy/creditors’ rights and asset recovery, as well as corporate and real estate matters.

Frank T. Adams has joined Dunwody White & Landon in Coral Gables as a shareholder. Adams practices trusts and estates law.

Jesse Cloyd has joined Salazar Jackson in Miami as an associate. Cloyd focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency matters.

Thomas J. Gibbons has joined Kelley Kronenberg in West Palm Beach. Gibbons focuses on admiralty and maritime law, condominium and homeowners’ association law, first-party insurance defense, property, coverage and bad faith, as well as third-party insurance defense and general liability claims.

Daniel S. Goldberg has joined the City of Miami Office of the City Attorney as an assistant city attorney. Goldberg will be handling general government matters for the City of Miami, including unsafe structures, code enforcement, and quality of life issues.

Michael Denberg and Lori Hartglass have moved from Arnstein & Lehr’s Miami office to its Ft. Lauderdale office. Denberg is a partner and chair of the firm’s Florida real estate practice. Hartglass is a member of the real estate practice group.

Brandon L. Chase joins Mase Lara in Miami as an associate. Chase concentrates on personal injury, commercial litigation, admiralty, and maritime law.

Robert Chapman has joined Sivyer Barlow & Watson in Tampa as an associate. Chapman focuses on commercial litigation and real estate transactions.

Maria D. Garcia and Patricia Camino have been named co-chairs of Zumpano Patricios & Winker’s international satellite offices. Headquartered in Coral Gables, the firm has 16 international satellite offices in the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Garcia focuses on health care law and international matters, as well as business litigation. Camino focuses in the areas of international law and commercial litigation.

Crystal C. Spencer, Ann E. Meador, and Travis R. Johnson have merged their practices to form Spencer Meador Johnson

Spencer will serve as the firm’s president and focuses on medical malpractice, as well as family law. Meador focuses on divorce and family law. John Paulich III and Casey Wolff have joined GrayRobinson in Naples. Paulich focuses on commercial and residential real estate, title insurance, business organizations, corporate transactions, estate planning, and probate. Wolff focuses on immigration and naturalization, business organizations, and international transactions.

Nicholas P. Basco has joined the City of Miami Office of the City Attorney as an assistant city attorney. Basco will be handling state and federal litigation matters for the City of Miami.

Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser & Zoeller in West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie will now be known as Schuler, Halvorson, Weisser, Zoeller & Overbeck. The firm focuses on personal injury and wrongful death.

Jessica M. Daley and Kimberly M. Silverman have joined Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Lauderdale. Daley focuses on workers’ compensation and Silverman handles the defense of general liability, personal injury, products liability, and construction defect claims.

Susanne D. McCabe has established The McCabe Law Firm in Port Orange. Her daughter, Allison McCabe, has joined the firm as an associate. The firm will handle general civil litigation and family law.
