Mitchell O. “Mickey” Palmer has been appointed county attorney for Manatee County Government.

Barry A. Cohen has formed a strategic alliance and co-counsel relationship between his firm — Cohen & Foster — and McIntyre, Panzarella, Thanasides, Hoffman, Bringgold and Todd in Tampa. The McIntyre firm now has several of its lawyers in residence at Cohen’s downtown Tampa office. Cohen’s firm will have full access to the McIntyre firm’s 18 lawyers and their multidisciplinary practice areas.

Julia Wyda has joined Shapiro, Blasi, Wasserman & Gora in Boca Raton. Wyda will practice family law.

Christopher Sotillo has joined Rosenthal, Levy, Simon, & Ryles in West Palm Beach as an associate in the workers’ compensation department.

Martha Anderson Hartley and Zachary J. Bancroft have joined Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz in Orlando as shareholders. Hartley focuses her practice on representing international and domestic developers and commercial property owners in the acquisition, development, financing, and disposition of commercial real estate. Bancroft focuses on commercial foreclosures, commercial loan workouts, bankruptcy litigation, and general business litigation.

Suzanne Bryson Sasser has joined Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Lauderdale as an associate. Sasser practices family law.

Thomas M. Prestia has joined Ice Legal, P.A., in Royal Palm Beach. Prestia focuses on criminal litigation, personal injury, and medical malpractice litigation.

Gary D. Wilson and Nathan A. McCoy, have opened Wilson McCoy, P.A., in Maitland, dedicated to the representation of employers, employees, and unions in workplace law and related litigation.

Amber H. Hill has joined The Law Office of Robert Eckard & Associates in Palm Harbor as an associate. Hill’s practice areas include criminal defense and commercial litigation.

Kimberly D. Healy has joined GrayRobinson in Orlando as an of counsel in the complex litigation section. Healy will provide overall support for the team focusing on complex commercial litigation, domestic relations, and appellate matters.

Deborah Getzoff of Bradenton has joined Lewis, Longman & Walker as of counsel. Getzoff focuses on government and environmental issues.

Nicholas J. Outman, Jeffrey W. Glasgow, Stephen A. Liverpool, and David W. Hughes have joined Hill Ward Henderson in Tampa as associates. Outman will work in the corporate and tax group. Glasgow will serve in the real property and commercial litigation groups. Liverpool will practice in the real estate and land use group. Hughes joins the litigation group.

Andrew Paul Kawel has opened a second office in Coral Gables, where he practices appellate litigation. His firm Kawel PLLC also has an office in Washington, D.C. He accepts appellate cases and provides trial support in Florida, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and the 11th, Fourth, and District of Columbia circuits.

T. John Costello has joined Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Myers. Costello’s practice focuses primarily on estate planning, matters involving the administration and litigation of trusts and estates, as well as general business, corporate, and intellectual property matters.

Heather L. Ries has become a partner with Fox Rothschild in West Palm Beach. Ries focuses on bankruptcy and financial recovery-workouts, including commercial litigation, consumer law and creditors’ remedies and bankruptcy as well as insolvency.

David W. Hirshfeld has joined The Florida Healthcare Law Firm in Delray Beach.

Ryan T. Hulslander was named associate general counsel for Cochlear Americas in Centennial, Colorado.

Watts-FitzGerald focuses her practice on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; partnerships, joint ventures and LLCs; tax-exempt organizations; sports and entertainment law and sponsorships; naming rights; closely held corporations, shareholder agreements, employment agreements and restrictive covenants; intellectual property matters; and distribution and licensing agreements.

Amy Steele Donner has joined Broad and Cassel in Miami as a senior counsel in the commercial litigation practice group.

William S. Kramer joined Brinkley Morgan in Boca Raton as a partner. Kramer focuses on real estate, business, and corporate law. He is Florida Bar board certified as a specialist in real estate.

Craig Dawson has joined Phelps Dunbar in Tampa as an associate in the labor and employment practice group.

Diaz Reus and Targ has opened an office in Iraq. The Miami-based firm has established a strategic alliance with the New Iraq Company for Legal Consultancy and Newton & Partners that already has a broad presence in the Middle East. The firm will focus on project finance, direct investment, mergers and acquisitions, corporate and business transactions, regulatory compliance, and international arbitration.

Michael A. Rodriguez, Renee Meenach Decker, Jack S. Kallus, and J. Kirby McDonough have joined Blank Rome. Rodriguez has joined as a partner in the consumer finance litigation group. Decker, Kallus, and McDonough join as associates and will practice in the consumer finance litigation group. Rodriguez, Kallus, and Decker will be based in Boca Raton, and McDonough will be based in Tampa.

Dan Dietrich has been elected a shareholder with Williams Schifino in Tampa. Dietrich focuses on securities litigation and arbitration, and business and commercial litigation.

Joel Knee has been promoted to partner/shareholder at Moffa & Bonacquisti in Plantation. Knee focuses his practice in all areas of bankruptcy law.

Jonathan Osborne has joined Gunster in Ft. Lauderale and will work in the business litigation practice group.

Anthony Casareale has joined Becker & Poliakoff and will work in the Ft. Lauderdale and New York offices. Osborne is a real estate lawyer.

Lydecker Diaz has opened offices in Tampa and Jacksonville and moving into more expansive offices in Orlando. The Jacksonville office is located at 4720 Salisbury Road, the Tampa office at 4511 North Himes Avenue, and the new Orlando office is located at 390 N. Orlando Avenue. JW Webb was also named partner-in-charge of the Orlando office and focuses his practice in general civil trial and complex commercial litigation, insurance defense, and medical malpractice.
