Consumer Protection Law
The Consumer Protection Law Committee’s mission is to educate consumers and Bar members about consumer protection laws and current issues through such means as public outreach events, public service messages, CLE programs, consumer publications, non-partisan technical assistance memoranda on proposed legislation, and providing expert resources to The Florida Bar, the Judiciary, and the Legislature.
Seminar covers hottest topics in consumer law
Consumer law practitioners are routinely asked about privacy issues, mortgage difficulties and the foreclosure process. “Property, Privacy and Accountability – Recent Developments in Consumer Protection” will address those topics and more with speakers who are nationally recognized. The seminar is being held during the Annual Convention in Orlando on Thursday, June 26, from 1 to 5 p.m. Registration begins in mid-April.
Nominate an attorney for Consumer Protection Lawyer of the Year
Nominations are being accepted for the 2014 Consumer Protection Lawyer of the Year Award,
which recognizes excellence, character and commitment to the practice of consumer protection law. Nominations should explain how the nominee promotes the ideals and values of consumer protection and advocacy; describe the nominee’s participation in notable projects or activities advancing consumer protection; and provide other examples of the lawyer’s professionalism, excellence, character and commitment to consumer protection.
