Committee Preference Form
2017 - 2018 Committee Preference Form
December 1, 2016
Dear Fellow Bar Members:
Please join one of our committees of dedicated members who volunteer their time for the betterment of our profession.
It is a privilege to practice law in this state, and with that privilege comes a responsibility. We need the active engagement of our membership to work together to address the many challenges facing our profession. You can be a part of our joint effort; simply click Continue and submit your committee preference form by January 13, 2017.
Serving on a Florida Bar committee can be a meaningful and rewarding experience. It will also provide you with the opportunity to enhance our profession and to improve the services we provide the citizens of our state and our members.
Some of the factors I will consider in making committee appointments are: prior service to The Florida Bar and voluntary bar organizations; the opportunity to have new members; and diversity of gender, ethnicity, geography and areas of practice. I will also consider previous committee participation and contributions in conjunction with the evaluation of Committee Chairs. To provide more opportunities to serve on standing committees, members should not request more than one appointment.
If you are currently serving on a Standing Committee and your term expires in 2017, you must submit the committee preference form by January 13, 2017 to be considered for reappointment. To check your term on a committee, please click here and select your committee.
If you are not currently serving on a Standing Committee, and want to be considered, submit the committee preference form by January 13, 2017. Your comments concerning your participation in Bar-related activities, your qualifications and interests will be particularly helpful.
If you are serving on a substantive law committee and want to continue, you must submit the committee preference form by January 13, 2017, to be considered for reappointment.
We look forward to working with you in the upcoming Bar year. Thank you in advance for your interest in helping The Florida Bar maintain its reputation for excellence.
Very truly yours,
Michael J. Higer
