Course No. 1760R

“Professional Fiduciary: Responsibilities and Duties” is an intermediate level all day seminar intended to immerse the participant in the developing case law faced by receivers. There will be separate panels exploring the challenges faced by receivers in each of the three basic types of receiverships: real estate receivership, operating receivership and statutory receivership. Two judicial panels focusing on “How does one get a receivership appointment” and “How does a receiver close a case and get paid” will round out the program. A highlight of the program includes a luncheon speaker: David J. Sheehan, chief counsel for the SIPA Trustee for the liquidation of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC. The co-sponsors of this seminar are the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida, the Caribbean Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers—Miami Dade Chapter, the Florida Fiduciary Forum, the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation the Florida Network, the Miami Dade Justice Association, and the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association.
