2014 Masters Seminar on Ethics
The 2014 Masters Seminar on Ethics encompasses President Eugene Pettis’ theme “Embracing Connectivity”. In celebration of this year’s theme, the Masters Seminar on Ethics features a diverse and dynamic group of speakers and a highly acclaimed Judicial Panel who will discuss a variety of ethics issues faced by both new and seasoned lawyers. This lively and entertaining seminar will present a discussion of the practice of law from an ethics perspective, highlighting an understanding of the expectations of civility, candor, and ethical behavior in and out of the courtroom, and ethical considerations related to the impact of technology in changing the practice of law, and creating balance in practice and personal life. These esteemed speakers and panelists will provide insight and best-practice tips to assist lawyers in establishing a foundation for practice based in ethics and its impact on dealing with colleagues, clients, the court, and will highlight the integration of technology and the connectivity of these relationships and issues. The 2014 Masters Seminar on Ethics will benefit and appeal to lawyers in all fields, including those practicing transactional, civil, and criminal law, in understanding how to recognize ethical pitfalls and overcome many of the ethical challenges that lawyers face today.

Masters Seminar on Ethics
The 2013 Masters Seminar on Ethics features dynamic speakers discussing a variety of ethics issues that many lawyers face today. The highly acclaimed presenters include a former Chief District Court of Appeal judge, the Chair of The Florida Bar's annual Board Certification Review Course for Civil Trial Law, the national director of legal training for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, and the Director of The Florida Bar’s Law Office Management Assistance Service. Effective March 6, 2010, new lawyers or members that have not yet completed their three Basic CLE course component of the Basic Skills Course Requirement (BSCR), Rule 6-12, Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, will be able to fulfill this requirement either by attending a live Basic CLE presentation or participating in the 24/7 online CLE version of the Basic program and obtaining a certificate of completion. This online CLE option will replace the previously offered video replays. Live webcasts/virtual seminars, audio-CD and video-DVD programs will not satisfy this requirement. You can register for upcoming live seminars or participate in the 24/7 On-line CLE at your convenience and any time, 24 hours a day, by accessing The Florida Bar CLE website at www.floridabar.org/CLE.

The in-person attendance requirement for Practicing with Professionalism has not changed.

The expanded delivery method option for satisfying the BSCR only affects those attorneys who have not yet completed the BSCR. To verify your compliance and reporting dates, please check our website at www.floridabar.org/cler.
