This seminar will dicuss what the U.S. legal and business communities need to know about Cuba. Topics include: Cuba: an evolving marketplace; legal changes in U.S. policy toward Cuba since 2008; and the impact of the Cuban diaspora in Cuba and the U.S. On Friday afternoon, their will be two breakout groups. Session A will dicuss intellectual property; energy, mining and the enviroment; small business: restaurants, b&b’s, etc.; healthcare & pharmaceuticals. Session B will dicuss agricultural production & trade; telecommunications, cellulars, cables tv & internet; foreign investment & the Mariel free trade zone; and travel industry: people to people, family travel, professional research, etc.
