This seminar is open to lawyers and non-lawyers alike. It is designed to assist anyone who wants to learn about the legislative process and access legislative information, including private practitioners, agency personnel, agency and department heads, lobbyists, business persons and their staffs. This course will provide information that will be useful to anyone who has ever needed to locate pending legislation, legislative history or documents and procedures relating to the legislative process. This presentation will discuss how to research legislative history including how and where to locate legislative intent. It will include tracking a law change from the statute back to bill form (including chapter laws, slip laws, bill analyses, floor and committee action).
