Priorities of the President

Holding a summit on access to justice: Addressing the funding crisis of legal aid services and new access and delivery methods for those who do not qualify for legal aid, yet cannot afford a lawyer.

Challenging fellow attorneys to prepare for a changing world: Lawyers, Coleman contends, are wired to look backward – at precedent, statutes, the Constitution. But a world filled with free downloadable apps and other innovations, which are changing the legal practice and daily life, requires rapid adaptation.

Adapting the profession to technological changes: Coleman wants to provide new attorneys with a suite of technology products so they can affordably set up shop. He also wants to offer all Bar members affordable technology consulting services as a new member benefit.

Vision 2016 : An In-Depth Review of the Future Practice of Law
The commission will focus on the critical issues that will impact the practice of law: technology, legal education, Bar admission and delivery of legal services/pro bono.
