The Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission announces a vacancy due to the resignation of Judge James W. Whatley.
Applicants must have been a member of The Florida Bar for the preceding ten (10) years, a registered voter and must be a resident of the territorial jurisdiction of the Court at the time he or she assumes office.
This appointment will be assigned to offices in the Lakeland Courthouse and would be based in that Courthouse for the foreseeable future.
Current Applications must be used and can be downloaded from the Florida Bar's website.
The completed application must be typed and bound. The inclusion of a photograph is encouraged. In addition to the original and nine two sided copies, applicants must provide one (1) printed redacted copy and (1) electronic redacted copy of the application which complies with Chapter 119 and Florida’s Public Records Act, if you claim the right to redaction. The full copy and the redacted copy should be on a flash drive in PDF format. All printed copies should be two sided.
The completed application and attachments and flash drive must be delivered to Anthony T. Martino, Esquire, Chairman, Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission, 3407 West Kennedy Blvd., Tampa, FL 33609.
The deadline for submission of the completed application with attachments and authorizations is noon, Monday, October 22, 2012. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
