The Sixth Circuit Judicial Nominating Committee announces a judicial vacancy in the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court due to the retirement of the Honorable W. Lowell Bray, Jr. The Sixth Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission seeks applications for nomination from all persons who meet the eligibility requirements set forth in the Florida Constitution.

Applicants must be able to fulfill the Constitutional qualifications before assuming the office of Circuit Court Judge, which require the person to be a member in good standing of The Florida Bar for the preceding five (5) years, a resident of the Sixth Judicial Circuit and a registered voter in the State of Florida.

Application forms for the judgeship may be obtained from the Nominating Commission Chair, Hugh C. Umsted, whose address and telephone number appears below. Applications can be downloaded from The Florida Bar’s website.

The original completed application with attachments, one copy of the original with attachments that has the redactions required by Fla. R. Jud. Admin., a flashdrive with both original and redacted applications with attachments, and a recent photo must be delivered to Hugh Umsted, Chairman, Sixth Judicial Nominating Commission at the address below no later than noon on September 25. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
