The Board of Governors is seeking applicants for the following vacancy to be filled during its January 31, 2014 meeting:

The Florida Bar Foundation Board of Directors: Two lawyers to serve three-year terms, commencing July 1, 2014 on this 33-member Board of Directors which administers Florida’s IOTA program. Directors shall be members of the Foundation during their term(s) as directors. Persons interested in applying for this vacancy may download the application and review the “Expectations for Service of Board Members” from the Bar's website,, or may call Bar headquarters at (850)561-5757, to obtain these documents. Completed applications must be submitted to the Executive Director, The Florida Bar, 651 East Jefferson Street, Tallahassee, 32399-2300 no later than 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 13. Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of an application.

Supreme Court’s Judicial Management Council of Florida: One lawyer to serve a 2-year term. The council shall consist of 15 voting members. In February 2012, the Florida Supreme Court recreated the Judicial Management Council (JMC) of Florida, an advisory body designed to assist the Supreme Court in identifying trends, potential crisis situations, and the means to address them. The JMC will become part of a loop that will assist the court with forward-looking vision in order to better fulfill its mission to protect rights and liberties, uphold and interpret the law, and provide for the peaceful resolution of disputes. Persons interested in applying for this vacancy may download the Judicial Management Council Application and Instructions from the Bar's website,, or should call Bar headquarters at (850) 561-5757, to obtain the application form (there is a specific SC JMC application).
