APPLICANTS SOUGHT AGAIN FOR OFFICE OF CRIMINAL CONFLICT AND CIVIL REGIONAL COUNSEL FOR THE FOURTH DCA

The Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission received a letter from the Governor's Office rejecting the three nominees previously submitted on May 26, 2011, for appointment to the position of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, Fourth District Court of Appeal region. The Supreme Court JNC is requested to submit three new nominees. The office encompasses the geographic boundary of the respective District Court of Appeal.
By statute, the Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission will recommend three qualified applicants for each Regional Counsel position to Gov. Scott, who will appoint the Regional Counsels subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. The term of office is four years.
Applicants must be electors of the state, members of The Florida Bar or similar organization in another state for the preceding five years and must devote full-time to their duties and not engage in the private practice of law. Base salary for the position is $98,000 per year, plus benefits. Interested persons should refer to F.S. 27.511 for additional information.
