FLORIDA FEDERAL JUDICIAL NOMINATING COMMISSION NOTICE RELATING TO INTERVIEWS OF APPLICANTS FOR U.S. DISTRICT JUDGE, MIDDLE DISTRICT OF FLORIDA, U.S. ATTORNEY, MIDDLE DISTRICT OF FLORIDA AND U.S. DISTRICT JUDGE, SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 29, 2013
CONTACT:

Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission

Attached hereto are the names of the applicants who will be interviewed by the Commission for the positions of U.S. District Judge and U.S. Attorney. The attachments provide information relating to the date, time and location of each interview.

The order of interviews was randomly determined by drawing. Each applicant will be allocated twenty-five (25) minutes for the interview. Each applicant will be given an opportunity to make a brief opening statement but such remarks are within the total twenty-five (25) minute time allocated for the interview. An important part of the interview process involves questioning by members of the Commission so the Commission recommends that the opening statement not exceed three (3) minutes. Applicants should be present at least thirty (30) minutes before the scheduled time of the interview.

All interviews are open to the public. However, in addition to its Rules of Procedure, the Commission has invoked "The Rule" with respect to those being interviewed and therefore no applicant will be allowed to attend the interview of another applicant or to discuss an interview with a member of the public who has attended other interviews. Following the completion of interviews, the Commission will deliberate in closed-door session to identify the finalists whose names will be forwarded to Senator Nelson and Senator Rubio.

Pursuant to the previous Commission Notice dated July 16, 2013, the interviews will take place at these locations: Middle District of Florida interviews will take place at the Ceremonial Courtroom 3A, George C. Young U.S. Courthouse, 401 West Central Boulevard, Orlando, Florida and Southern District of Florida interviews will take place at the Judge's Conference Room, 14th Floor, Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr.
U.S. Courthouse, 400 North Miami Avenue, Miami, Florida.
