NOTICE OF REAPPOINTMENT HEARING FOR JUDGES OF COMPENSATION CLAIMS AND FOR VACANT POSITION FOR JUDGE OF COMPENSATION CLAIMS, MELBOURNE DISTRICT

The Statewide Nominating Commission for Judges of Compensation Claims (SNCJCC) announces that it will be meeting on Monday, January 23, 2012, at 9 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport, 9300 Jeff Fuqua Blvd., Orlando, FL, USA 32827, for the purpose of interviewing the following Judges of Compensation Claims (JCC’s) for reappointment; Honorable Robert D. McAliley (PSL), Honorable Ellen H. Lorenzen (TPA), Honorable Charles M. Hill (MIA), Honorable W. James Condry (ORL), and Honorable Daniel A. Lewis (FTL). The Commission will also interview prospective applicants/candidates for nomination as Judge of Compensation Claims for the Melbourne (MEL) District (term to commence upon Gubernatorial appointment).

Any questions or comments relating to any of the above Judges of Compensation Claims should be addressed in writing to: Wogan "Wogie" Badcock, (SNCJCC Commission Chairman), P.O. Box 497, Mulberry, FL 33860.

Please be advised that if you wish to speak at the Commission meeting in opposition to the reappointment of any of the above Judges, written notice must be provided to the Commission Chairman and each Commission Member no later than Friday, January 6, 2012, 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in writing. Your letter should include your intention to address the Commission and a brief explanation regarding your request. If you wish to present any documents in support of your appearance before the Commission, copies must be provided to the Commission Chair and all Commission Members by Friday, January 6, 2012, 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. A list of the names and mailing addresses of each SNCJCC member is provided on the Office of Judges of Compensation Claims (OJCC) website (www.fljcc.org) and Florida Bar websites (www.flabar.org).

The Commission will not grant any requests for personal appearances to speak in favor of any of the above sitting Judges or applicants/candidates. However, the Committee will accept letters in support of the current Judges and applicants/candidates as long as they are received by Friday, January 6, 2012, 5 p.m. eastern standard time.

The Commission is also seeking applications from individuals in the Third Judicial District to serve as Commissioners on the SNCJCC.

The Commission will meet telephonically on Monday, January 9, 2012, at 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. This meeting will be to discuss procedural issues of the Commission specifically for the January 23, 2012, meeting and for the Commission procedures generally. Applicants for the Commission positions in the Third District (Dade and Monroe counties) may also be discussed at this telephonic meeting. This telephonic commission meeting will be open to the public by dialing 888.808.6959, and entering code number 889675 when prompted.
