Court to recognize Hall’s retirement
The Florida Supreme Court will host a retirement ceremony for Clerk of Court Thomas D. Hall October 9 beginning at 3 p.m. at the court in Tallahassee.
Hall has served as the court’s clerk for 13 years and came just before the court was engulfed in the Bush v. Gore litigation in the 2000 election and leaves after helping state courts transition from a paper-based system to electronic filing and communications.
“Tom Hall’s talent for administration and legal analysis combined with his energy and remarkable capacity for calmness has made him a go-to person not only for this court but for the entire judicial branch,” Chief Justice Ricky Polston told a luncheon crowd at the Bar’s Annual Convention in June.
Hall was also presented a plaque at that event that read in part, “Mr. Hall’s service and commitment to numerous state and national law-related groups has, ultimately, advanced the rule of law that makes our democracy strong.. . . Mr. Hall’s tenure at this court has been marked by excellence.”
