GrayRobinson has been selected as the “Law Firm of the Year” by Broward County Legal Aid in honor of the firm’s commitment to pro bono work and its high level of sponsorship engagement for the organization’s events and programs.
“The lawyers at GrayRobinson recognize their obligation to their community to be leaders in helping those who lack the resources to obtain legal assistance, especially during such trying economic times,” said Tom Loffredo, managing shareholder of GrayRobinson’s Ft. Lauderdale office. “Working with legal aid and its clients has allowed GrayRobinson to fulfill this pro bono commitment, while striving to make a difference in the lives of those who most need our help. GrayRobinson is proud to be an avid supporter of legal aid, and is honored to be named its Law Firm of the Year.”
As a member of Broward Lawyers Care — a program of Broward County Legal Aid — for more than 20 years, Michele Cummings, a shareholder in the Ft. Lauderdale office, has been a vital contributor. Additionally, Evan Appell’s support of the NEXT Young Professionals organization has been instrumental in building that program over the past year. Pat Scott has also dedicated himself to offer free CLE programs to NEXT members.
Several of the firm’s other South Florida attorneys have assisted with the Advice & Counsel Hotline. Last year, nearly 50 residents of Broward County received legal assistance through the hotline due to the work of GrayRobinson attorneys Shayna Freyman, Cortney Kaiserman, Jarred Leibner, Michael Lessne, Andrew Marcus, and Ronald Tomassi.
