Heidi Isenhart of Shuffield, Lowman & Wilson in Orlando was recognized for her pro bono work by the Florida Pro Bono Coordinators Association.

Heath S. Eskalyo of firm Kelley Kronenberg in Ft. Lauderdale was appointed as legal advisor for the Construction Association of South Florida.

Jeffrey Hearne of Legal Services of Greater Miami spoke on landlord/tenant issues at the West Kendall Regional Library.

Thomas H. Loffredo, William G. McCormick, and Ronald J. Tomassi of GrayRobinson in Ft. Lauderdale participated in leadership development programs throughout South Florida. Loffredo graduated from Leadership Florida, McCormick graduated from Leadership Broward, and Tomassi graduated from Leadership Ft. Lauderdale.

Paula P. Bentley of Gunster in Tampa is now licensed as a health care risk manager by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.

Roman Hammes of Wolff, Hill, McFarlin & Herron in Orlando participated in the third annual NCBJ Next Generation Program, intended to attract lawyers with five to 10 years of experience who will become leaders of the next generation of bankruptcy practitioners.

Timothy M. Ravich of Ravich Law Firm, P.A., in Hallandale was the featured speaker in a podcast by George Mason University’s Mercatus Center. The program discussed privacy and regulatory issues related to unmanned aerial vehicles and drones.

Michelle Diffenderfer of Lewis, Longman & Walker in West Palm Beach has been selected to serve as a member of the Southeast Florida Coral Reef Initiative.

Jay Blumenkopf of of Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan in Boca Raton was inducted as a fellow into the Litigation Counsel of America.

Michael J. Gelfand of Gelfand & Arpe in West Palm Beach presented “Condominium and Homeowner Association Update: Closing the Deal – A Primer to Community Issues” at the 49th Annual Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund Assembly.

Larry S. Stewart of Stewart Tilghman Fox Bianchi & Cain in Miami has been appointed to the executive committee of the American Law Institute.

Fred Karlinsky of Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky, Abate & Webb in Tallahassee taught a course titled “Law and Risk Management” at the Florida State University College of Law and College of Business Department of Risk Management and Insurance.

John J. Fumero of Sundstrom, Friedman & Fumero in Lake Mary moderated a panel titled “Making the Water Pie Bigger” at the Florida Chamber’s 27th Annual Environmental Permitting Summer School in Marco Island.

Marissa Hoffman of Rigell & Associates in West Palm Beach was selected as co-chair of the Working Parents Committee of the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

Richard Patiño of The Patiño Law Firm in Miami was honored at the Miami Dade College Hall of Fame Alumni Gala for his “exemplary professional and civic contributions in the area of law.”

Louis Tertocha of Coral Gables lectured as a panelist on theatrical and venue contracts at the ABA’s Annual International Legal Symposium on the World of Music, Film, Television and Sports.

Brian Dickerson of Roetzel in Naples presented “The Global Impact of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the Foreign Agent Registration Act” at the Moscow Global Law Forum.

James White of Weiss Serota Helfman Pastoriza Cole & Boniske in Ft. Lauderdale presented a workshop providing an overview of the legislation which was adopted during the 2013 Florida Legislative session at FAU’s Las Olas campus.
Mark A. Sessums of Lakeland has been appointed to the joint committee of Florida Chapter of American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and The Florida Bar Family Law Section to study statutory alimony reform.

Vanessa Goodwin of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick in Tampa has been appointed to the board of directors of Are You Safe, Inc., dedicated to providing domestic violence victims with legal services.

Bradley Edwards of Farmer, Jaffe, Weissing, Edwards, Fistos & Lehr-man in Ft. Lauderdale presented at the Florida Justice Association’s Perfecting Your Competitive Edge: Advanced Trial Skills for Top Litigators Seminar during the Annual Convention in St. Petersburg Beach. Edwards discussed “Simplifying Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Type 1 for Jurors.”

Jennifer Nicole of Gunster in Ft. Lauderdale was elected chair of the Broward County Housing Authority’s Board of Commissioners.

Benjamin P. Shenkman of Gonzalez & Shenkman in Lake Worth was appointed to the Arthur R. Marshall Foundation for the Everglades & Florida Environmental Institute Board of Directors.

Howard Kay of Lilly, O’Toole & Brown in Lake Wales was awarded the 2013 Citizen of the Year award by the Lake Wales Chamber of Commerce.

Albert Batista of Naples received the annual Outstanding Community Service Award from the International Learning Academy of Naples.

Ruben N. Gotlieb of Gotlieb & Associates in Miami gave a presentation to Total Bank bankers on “International Tax and Estate Planning for Non-resident Aliens.”

Brett D. Lieberman of Messana, P.A., in Ft. Lauderdale moderated a panel presenting a “Practical Evidence” seminar, co-sponsored by the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida and the Bankruptcy/UCC Committee of the Business Law Section.

E. Scott Golden of Golden & La Neve in Ft. Lauderdale moderated a panel consisting of Clark J. Cochran, Jr., M. Glenn Curran III, and Perry W. Hodges, Jr., on the topic, “The Top Five Reasons that Churches Go to Court” before the Broward County Christian Lawyers Association.

Gigi Rollini of Holland & Knight in Tallahassee has been named Florida Delegate to the National Association of Women Lawyers by the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.

Nicole Hessen of Wender, Hedler & Hessen in West Palm Beach has become president-elect of the Palm Beach County Chapter of FAWL.

Patrick B. Calcutt of Calcutt & Calcutt in Americus, GA, and St. Petersburg was elected president of the Southwestern GA Judicial Circuit Bar Association and also was appointed solicitor for the City of Americus to serve the Municipal Court.

Brian C. Willis of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick in Tampa spoke on “Transportation Technology to Connect Tampa Bay” at Ignite Tampa Bay.

James B. Davis of Gunster in Ft. Lauderdale was appointed to the Professional Advisors Council of the Community Foundation of Broward. Davis was also appointed to the board of directors for the Planned Giving Council of Broward County.

George D. Karibjanian of Proskauer Rose in Boca Raton lectured at the Ft. Lauderdale Trust and Estates Roundtable’s April Meeting on representing a client facing competency and undue influence issues; the ABA Real Property Trust & Estate Law’s May Symposium in Washington, D.C., on the current status of the DOMA Supreme Court cases, and on a panel discussion about the ramifications of 2012 gifting plans in 2013; the Broward County Bar’s May Meeting on the Morey v. Everbank decision; and the Martin County Estate Planning Council’s estate planning seminar on the current status of the DOMA Supreme Court cases and same-sex planning issues.

Hunter Chamberlin of Chamberlin Crowe in Tampa addressed the New Tampa Republican Club on “The Constitution and Gun Control after the Heller Decision.”

Oren Tasini of Haile Shaw & Pfaffenberger in North Palm Beach was elected president of the National Association of Dealer Counsel Board of Directors.

Hilary High of Tampa spoke as a panelist to the Working Women of Tampa Bay about “leaning in” to one’s career.

Rhea F. Law of Fowler White Boggs in Tampa has been awarded an honorary doctor of medicine degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

John Herin of GrayRobinson in Ft. Lauderdale has been appointed city attorney for the City of Doral.

Jason Z. Jones of Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod in Miami was honored as “Pro Bono Bankruptcy Attorney of the Year” by the Dade County Bar Association and Dade Legal Aid’s “Put Something Back” pro bono program.

Judge Charles A. Davis of Lakeland was unanimously elected chief judge of the Second District Court of Appeal by his colleagues.

Curtis Mase of Mase Lara Eversole in Miami spoke to the Maritime Law Association Cruise Lines and Passenger Ships Committee in New York about legal issues arising from the fire aboard the Carnival Triumph.

Kathleen McDonough of Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney in Chicago received the 2012 Professional Achievement Award from the IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law.

Michael L. Smith of The Health Law Firm in Altamonte Springs lectured to Florida Hospital’s Family Medicine Department on medical staff credentialing, privileging, and peer review.

Mark Osherow of Buckingham Doolittle & Burroughs addressed the Sixth Annual Ethics Seminar presented by the Boca Raton chapter of the Paralegal Association of Florida.

J. Cameron Thurber, counsel to the inspector general and chief investigator at the Federal Election Commission in Washington, D.C., co-presented the Inspector General Authorities Course to personnel from the federal inspector general community in Washington, D.C.

Anna Long of Sundstrom, Friedman & Fumero in Lake Mary spoke as part of a panel titled “Maneuvering Through the Regulatory Process” at the Florida Chamber’s 27th Annual Environmental Permitting Summer School in Marco Island.
