Bar Examiners recognize staff

THE FLORIDA BOARD OF BAR EXAMINERS held its annual staff appreciation luncheon for its 50 employees in Tallahassee May 21, honoring employees for longevity and merit. The following staff received longevity awards: Stephen Pridemore, Linda Leonard, Mary Beth Rudd, Lisa Knight, Margaret Butler, Christine Sadler — two years; Jason Raymond, William Slappey — five years; Andrae Washington, David Herrington, Horace Smith — seven years; Nell McPherson — 10 years; Catherine Montpellier, Robert Blythe, Reginald Barnes – 20 years; Elizabeth Thompson, Michele Gavagni – 25 years. The following staff received merit awards at the luncheon: Reggie Barnes, Shanna N. D’Attile, Mark A. Huntsberger, Frances R. Moniz, Brian Rains, Christine R. Sadler, Christopher M. Sheats, William Slappey, Jane C. Starkey, and Ellen Walker. Shanna N. D’Attile received the Brandi Cawthon Alvarado Award, presented annually to the employee, as voted by Florida Board of Bar Examiners staff, who best exemplifies the ideals and high standards of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners. The board’s website at www.floridabarexam.org, has the board’s computerized bar application forms available to applicants free of charge. In 2014, 3,277 applicants were recommended for admission to the Bar, and 1,032 have been recommended for admission so far in 2015.
