Small wins ABA Presidential Citation
THEODORE W. SMALL, JR., of DeLand was awarded a Presidential Citation from ABA President Laurel Bellows at the ABA Pro Bono Publico Awards luncheon in San Francisco. The presidential citation is a new award that allows the ABA president to recognize lawyers who have made “noteworthy contributions to the legal profession and the ABA,” and who exhibit “outstanding leadership qualities.” Small was recognized for his service on the ABA Standing Committee on Pro Bono and Public Service, where he led the committee’s efforts to conduct a national empirical study of pro bono participation by American lawyers. “The award itself was not something I sought or expected, but I will forever cherish the unique experience of receiving this honor in a room full of bar leaders,” Small said.
