Board Certification Applications for Lawyers

All applicants for board certification or recertification should carefully read the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar (Rules) and be sure you have met each of the requirements prior to filing your application. Unless the Rules provide for a waiver of a specific requirement, each of the requirements must be met by the dates indicated in the rule. There is a link to the Rules located below on this page.

Certification CLE Hours Requirement. To view your Board Certification CLE credit hours online: Log in to your Florida Bar account, and select “Show More” in the My Board Certifications section. Click “Show All” and select International Law from the drop down menu. Select the “Credit History” tab. It is recommended that you see how many hours are required for certification and the date the hours must be completed to qualify.

Currently Certified? Recertification Information for 2017:
The applications are currently being updated and will be posted here by the beginning of February.

If you were originally certified in 2002, 2007, or 2012 you are due to file your recertification application in 2017. The application for recertification must be postmarked by May 31, 2017. All requirements for recertification are to be completed by this date unless you submit a recertification file extension request – form to be posted soon.

Get Certified - Seeking Certification
The applications are currently being updated and will be posted here by the beginning of February.

The filing period opens July 1, 2017. Applications must be postmarked by August 31, 2017. You must apply in this filing period to be considered for eligibility for the 2018 exam. Carefully read the rules for initial certification to determine if you will meet the requirements.
