SUMMARY FUNCTION:
Performs a variety of administrative and program duties related to legal specialization and education.

Receives, reviews, and processes certification applications; updates applications, reference forms, standards, and policies; analyzes content of applications in accordance with rules and policies and prepares for committee review; corresponds with potential, initial, and recertification applicants regarding rules, policies, and procedures; maintains proper computer information/status codes; prepares applicant recommendations and other pertinent data for the Board of Legal Specialization and Education.

Prepares detailed and confidential correspondence in reference to The Rules Regulating The Florida Bar and Standing Policies. Responds to inquiries from Bar members and the public regarding certification and other department programs, both orally and in writing; serves as liaison to certification committees; prepares meeting agendas, minutes, and other committee correspondence. Travels to committee meetings, the leadership conference, and participates in conference calls.

Assists committees with certification examination preparation; oversees production, assembly, and the administration of the board certification examinations; travels to the March and May exams; coordinates post exam details including the grading process, scoring, and pass/fail; notifies applicants of exam results and prepares certificates; coordinates exam reviews with examinees; travels to exam reviews; provides rule and policy information for exam challenges and appeals.

Prepares vouchers, P.O.s, fund transfers, and expense reports; assists with budget administration.

Assists with dissemination of information regarding all department programs. Completes special projects as assigned by Director and LSE Supervisor.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR POSITION:

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:
-- Bachelor's Degree (proof of degree required at interview)

REQUIRED MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE:
-- One (1) year of administrative experience

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

-- Progressively responsible administrative experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
