President's Video Message October 2012 - Alternative Text
Hello, I'm Gwynne Young, President of The Florida Bar.
As our courts continue to implement electronic service and filing, Florida Bar members can receive information and continuing education on The Florida Bar website.
A free one-hour CLE on mandatory service by e-mail and e-filing is now available, and frequently asked questions are posted on the homepage and updated often.
In addition, a complimentary three-hour course on e-discovery is available to watch 24/7.
Even more information is now offered electronically to Bar members with The Florida Bar News app. It’s free in your device’s app store.
Get breaking news, to bookmark and email stories, and to access classified ads at your fingertips.
I'd like to remind you that on December 1, committee preference forms will be ready for all Bar members to complete. Serving on a bar committee is a rewarding way to be involved in our profession. You can only apply for appointment to standing, service and substantive law committees by submitting this form no later than mid-January.
In closing, I want to remind you that on the general election ballot, you will be asked to vote whether to retain three Supreme Court justices and among 15 appeals court judges, depending on where you live.
To help you be informed, I encourage you to watch our informational video on merit retention introduced by Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
