Fiscal Assistant - Payables
Reports to:
Accounting Service Specialist Supervisor
Supervises The Following Positions:

Summary Function:
Reviews, approves, and enters vouchers for payment as well as other routine bookkeeping activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reviews, approves and prepares vouchers for payment and keys vouchers into the computer system.

Communicates with other departments to obtain missing voucher support or to assist them to understand and comply with Bar policies.

Maintains W-9 files.

Maintains and updates contract files.

Processes check run weekly.

Maintains voucher files.
5
Researches returned checks

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM SATISFACTORILY:
Knowledge of:
-Bookkeeping and accounting practices and procedures
-Basic math
-Professional office procedures and practices
-Professional telephone etiquette
-Database input, computer software, and the internet

Skilled in:
-MS Word
-MS Excel
-Computer functions
-Database functions
-10 key adding machine

Ability to:
-Maintain fiscal reports and records
-Audit fiscal data for accuracy and completeness
-Compile fiscal data
-Communicate orally and in writing in a professional manner including proper grammar, spelling, and word usage
-Follow written and oral instructions and work independently
-Establish and maintain effective working relationships
-Demonstrate initiative in group projects and individual settings
-Tactfully manage difficult situations
-Consistently provide an excellent service oriented attitude
-Operate well under pressure and in a team atmosphere
-Sit for long periods, hear and converse over the telephone, and key/work frequently on a computer.
- Lift boxes up to (10) pounds
- Use of hand truck




MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR POSITION:
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree (proof of degree required at interview)
Progressively responsible related experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

REQUIRED MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE:
- None required with degree.
Progressively responsible related experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- May require flexible schedule and overtime at certain times of the year.
