Position Description

POSITION TITLE:
Member Service Assistant - Finance Order Entry
(** "Specialist" -- see Additional Information)
Reports to:
Member Service Supervisor (FOE)
Supervises The Following Positions:

Summary Function:
Provides assistance to Bar members relating to course registrations and materials, audio/video sales, and addressing services. Performs related accounting functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Answers telephone calls and emails providing information on Bar members internally and externally. Assisting callers with locating members and confirming their membership status.

Assists Bar members, the public and Bar staff in using the storefront portion of The Florida Bar's website. Interpret and explain Rules Regulating TFB relating to membership classifications, fees and record bar contact information.

Membership maintenance; process all incoming requests for retirement from the Bar. Corresponds with Executice Director & Lawyer Regulation on approval. Maintains, prepares and files correspondence between members and TFB in reference to their retirement. Balancing and processing membership fees through lockbox and internal cash receipts. Generating related accounting entries, i.e. refunds, status change forms, debit/credit forms. Updating and processing member address changes from the member address database, mail and faxes. Process, mails and files certified correspondence to members in reference to their fees and membership status.

Maintains files, processes routine correspondence, enters all related information into computer, conducts related research, and assists with special projects when assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR POSITION:
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:
-- High School Diploma (or its equivalency)

REQUIRED MINIMUM PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE:
-- Three (3) years of professional office experience to include:
-- Two (2) years in customer service
-- One (1) year of fiscal / accounting

OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION (e.g., work schedule, physical and mental requirements, language requirements, overtime, travel, use of equipment/machines, etc.):
--Ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone, and key/work frequently on a computer.
--Ability to lift 5 to 10 lbs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
-- Bachelor's Degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience (proof of degree required at interview)

-- ** If advertised position is for "Specialist," then the required office experience is five (5) years, to include three (3) years in customer service and two (2) years of fiscal / accounting experience.
