Robold petitions for reinstatement

Pursuant to Rule 3-7.10, David Lawrence Robold has petitioned the Supreme Court for Bar reinstatement.

Robold was suspended from the practice of law for 91 days, effective September 12, 2015, for prematurely disbursing disputed funds that were held in his trust account. Robold failed to inform the court as well as opposing counsel of the disbursement at a lengthy October 2013 hearing that discussed whether Robold’s client was entitled to the funds. Robold failed to correct the misstatements that were made by both the court and opposing counsel. On April 9, 2014, Judge LeBlanc issued an order stating that Robold had committed a fraud upon the court as a result of his failure to notify the court. The court further stated that Robold was not given the authorization to release those funds. The court ordered Robold’s former client to return the money and pay attorneys’ fees as a result of Robold’s actions. Robold’s client returned the funds and Robold, on his own volition, paid the attorneys’ fees. The Bar’s audit revealed no other trust accounting violations occurred.

Any persons having knowledge bearing upon Robold’s fitness or qualifications to resume the practice of law should contact: Carrie Constance Lee, Bar Counsel, The Florida Bar, Orlando Branch Office, The Gateway Center, 1000 Legion Place, Suite 1625, Orlando 32801-1050, phone 407-425-5424, email clee@floridabar.
