19th Circuit needs a judge

The 19th Judicial Nominating Commission is now accepting applications to fill a St. Lucie County vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Thomas J. Walsh, Jr.

All applicants must have been members of the Florida Bar for the preceding five years, must be registered to vote in the State of Florida, and must reside in the territorial jurisdiction of the court at the time of assuming office. Applications may be downloaded from The Florida Bar’s website.

One copy of the completed application must be delivered to each commissioner by Tuesday, March 31, at 5 p.m. at the addresses indicated below. In addition to the nine copies to be provided to the individual commissioners, the original application and a *redacted copy must be delivered to the chair.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. The inclusion of a recent photograph is encouraged. Please do not submit three-ring binders. *Any material redacted by the applicant must be limited to exempt or confidential information pursuant to Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, Florida’s Public Records Law. In order to assist the Judicial Nominating Commission in its review of applications, all questions in the application must be fully and completely answered. In addition, applications should include current and accurate contact information for judges, co-counsel, opposing counsel and references where requested as those individuals will be contacted. If there is requested information missing from an application, the Commission will consider the applicant’s lack of effort in submitting a complete application.
