HUNDREDS OF WOMEN LAW PROFESSIONALS and students from across the nation recently attended the eighth annual conference of the Leadership Institute for Women of Color Attorneys, Inc., in Tampa. LIWOCA’s mission is to help women of color attorneys hone skills necessary to attain their professional and personal goals. The conference provides networking and mentoring opportunities for attendees to interact with women attorneys from across the country. The conference also provides opportunities for undergraduate students through its student track, which features law school deans and young attorneys who provide advice and guidance regarding applying for law school, financing one’s legal education, and understanding what to expect in law school and in their legal careers.
