Gov. Scott appoints 27 to judicial nominating panels


Gov. Rick Scott in July made 27 appointments to nine judicial nominating commissions.

“I am proud to appoint these 27 individuals across the state to faithfully serve Florida families,” Scott said. “I am confident that they will select judicial nominees who will serve with humility while respecting the rule of law.”

Those appointed include:

First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission
* Timothy Volpe, 57, of Jacksonville. He succeeds Daryl Parks.

* Timothy Cerio, 44, of Tallahassee. He is reappointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

* Michael Freed, 46, of Jacksonville. He succeeds Barbara C. Johnston and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

Third DCA JNC
* Harout Samra, 31, of Coral Gables. He succeeds Hector Lombana.

* Jeffrey Bass, 47, of Miami. He is reappointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

* Juan Enjamio, 54, of Miami. He succeeds Peter Prieto and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

Fourth DCA JNC
* Rian Balfour, 32, of Coral Springs. She succeeds Howard Weiss.

* Paul Lopez, 46, of Boca Raton. He succeeds Louis Silber and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

* Kara Rockenbach, 44, of Singer Island. She succeeds Glenn Waldman and is appointed from a list submitted by The Florida Bar.

Fifth DCA JNC
* James Richey, 50, of Melbourne Beach.He is reappointed.

* Michael Marder, 61, of Windermere. He is reappointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

* Carrie Ann Wozniak, 33, of Orlando. She succeeds Todd Copeland and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

Fourth Circuit JNC
* Michael Abel, 48, of Jacksonville. He succeeds Dexter Davis.

* Henry G. “Chip” Bachara, Jr., 54, of Jacksonville. He is reappointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

* Dexter V. Davis, 50, of Jacksonville. He succeeds Michael Mullin and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

Seventh Circuit JNC
* Craig Dyer, 66, of Daytona Beach. He succeeds Horace Smith.

* Tance Roberts, 46, of St. Augustine. She is reappointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

* Raven E. Sword, 37, of Palm Coast. She is reappointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

Ninth Circuit JNC
* J. Timothy Schulte, 51, of Winter Park. He succeeds Edward Storey III.

* Mary A. “Molly” Nardella, 31, of Orlando. She succeeds Jeffrey Jones and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

* Meredith Barrios Sasso, 31, of Orlando. She fills a vacancy and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

11th Circuit JNC
* Robert H. Fernandez, 43, of Miami. He succeeds Manuel Kadre.

* Hans Ottinot, 45, of Hialeah. He succeeds Mark Romance and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

* Luis E. Suarez, 42, of Coral Gables. He succeeds Marva Wiley and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.

20th Circuit JNC
* Bernard Long Jr., 73, of Bonita Springs. He succeeds Gordon Corey.

* Amira Dajani Fox, 48, of Ft. Myers. She succeeds Joseph Linnehan, Jr., and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar for a term beginning July 14, 2014, and ending July 1, 2018.

* Aaron A. Haak, 39, of Ft. Myers. He succeeds F. Joseph McMackin III and is appointed from a list of nominees submitted by The Florida Bar.
