LAWYERS FROM THE FT. LAUDERDALE BRANCH of The Florida Bar volunteered for the Legal Advice Telephone Hotline throughout the month of December. Broward Lawyers Care (a joint project of Legal Aid Services of Broward County and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida) provides advice and counsel on civil legal matters to the low-income residents of Broward County through a Legal Advice Telephone Hotline. The hotline is every Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteer attorneys receive three pro bono credit hours for each day they staff the hotline. Volunteer attorneys receive training and a hotline advocacy manual that allows the lawyers to quickly reference the specific areas of law to which a client’s issue may relate. Lawyers interested in volunteering with the hotline should contact Chanel Winter at firstname.lastname@example.org or 954-736-2427.
