Indications of interest in the Executive Director position are due March 31

The Florida Bar’s Executive Director Search Committee has set a deadline of Friday, March 31, to indicate interest for the position of Executive Director to succeed its current executive director who has announced his upcoming retirement after 37 years in that position.

A unified bar since 1950, The Florida Bar, with more than 100,000 members and the third largest mandatory bar in the United States, is the statewide professional and regulatory organization for lawyers. The Executive Director, based in Tallahassee, FL, implements the policies, programs and objectives set by the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar and the Florida Supreme Court.

A JD Degree is required for the position; membership in The Florida Bar is preferred. As the chief executive officer of The Florida Bar with direct charge of all operations, the position encompasses the management of a large staff (the Bar has over 325 employees) as well as supervision of large budgets and responsibility for financial matters. Management experience is important and an MBA helpful.
